Computing

Whilst computing is taught weekly for every child from Reception up to year 6, it is also an integral part of every lesson across the curriculum. The wealth of resources available to children enables them apply their knowledge of computers and technology, to the development of knowledge and understanding elsewhere. Our children can use netbooks, laptops and iPads in the classroom to support research tasks; they can use design programs and software to support art and DT and data loggers to gather information in science.

In discrete Computing lessons, our teachers follow the Hertfordshire Scheme of Work which shows a clear progression in skills and understanding of technology from the EYFS up to year 6. Most importantly, throughout the scheme children are being shown ways to stay safe when using computers and the internet and how they can protect themselves from any harm.
